Connecting the Community through the Arts was most artfully done at the Plaza Arts Center last weekend. For a Bing Crosby tribute concert, I expected the audience to be totally “mature adults” like myself, old enough to actually remember the classic crooner.
Not only was I pleasantly surprised to see young adults, but also young children coming to connect with a vocal style of the past.
But there was more. Jared Bradshaw, as Bing, used his talent as a performing artist to present the history of Bing’s top hits and his prominence in both American and Celtic history, as well as the art of album cover design and Bing’s artful skill of manipulating a microphone.
A most informative, entertaining, and artfully enriching event connecting a community whose age range spanned nine decades!
