Dear Editor:
The Greene County Christmas Stocking Fund (GCCSF) recently completed another successful year.
Throughout the season, GCCSF distributed food, clothing, and toys to 315 children and their families, and to 220 senior citizens. Additionally, it provided 350 toys to the Putnam County Fire Department, 160 toys to Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA for foster children), and 50 toys to Circle of Love.
GCCSF co-chairs Lloyd and Vickie Jenkins, along with board members Targie Folds, Vicky McBride, Tonya Miller and Lee Bradway, offered sincere thanks to the 40 to 50 volunteers who worked hard with them to create another successful campaign.
Additionally, many churches, businesses, and organizations support GCCSF by way of cash donations, fundraising, and/or toy collections. GCCSF thanks each of those listed below for their continued support.
GCCSF also expresses deep gratitude to the hundreds of people in local communities who support the organization each year with generous cash and toy donations.
GCCSF also thanks the local Marine Corp Toys for Tots for continuing a successful affiliation that allows for all collected toys to remain in Greene and Putnam counties to support local children.
The Greene County Christmas Stocking Fund is a not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization and could not achieve this success without the continuous support of volunteers, businesses, churches, organizations and individual donors. Thank you all for helping to make Christmas a little brighter for those in our community who are less fortunate.
