Letter to the Editor: Enough is enough

Dear Editor: The previous two weeks' opinion letters have painted the Republican party with a broad brush. It has been stated that Republicans are autocrats and “a risk to democracy”.

We are hat-wearing, flag-bearing, hoot-hollering cultists. This elitist attitude won the election for Donald Trump. Here we go again.

To equate all Republicans as election deniers is the equivalent of painting all Democrats as opponents to the rule of law. Seventy-four million Americans voted against Joe Biden.  A single-party system with open borders, not upholding the rule of law, federalizing elections, packing the Supreme Court, and abolishing the electoral college, and the filibuster are all threats to democracy.

As Republicans, we believe in entrepreneurial capitalism, the freedom of individualism, and that power is generated from the bottom up, not the top down. “Freedom is not fascism”, dissent should never be suppressed, “racism cannot be eradicated by using racism”, and crime cannot be stopped by not stopping criminals. Life has become chaotic so yes, use your mind. Get out and vote.
