Georgia-Pacific Madison Plywood helps others through Habitat

On May 31, Georgia-Pacific Madison Plywood collaborated with Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County during the home build for Ebony Browning and her children in Madison.

As a global leader in building products, Georgia-Pacific supports the mission of expanding access to affordable homeownership in its communities.

In recent months, the Madison mill donated plywood to the Morgan County affiliate, and several Georgia-Pacific employees volunteered during the roof-installation phase of the project.

“Every donation and volunteer hour helps the homeowner by lowering the overall cost of the home,” said Jeanie Collins, board member of the local HFH affiliate.

“The Georgia-Pacific volunteers were a great help today,” lead builder Hiram Johnston said. “Their participation put us ahead of schedule.”

“We are proud of our employees because they are committed to giving back to their communities,” Plant Manager Wesley Stone said. “We believe working alongside Madison residents and investing in these programs and resources helps people thrive and make their own contributions to society.”
