During a recent luncheon at Lake Oconee Bistro, the Lake Country Yellow Jackets fan club hosted former Georgia Tech head football coach George O’Leary, who coached the Yellow Jackets football team from 1994 to 2001 and was named to the school’s Hall of Fame in 2020.
O’Leary’s motivational message of time management as it applies to both football and daily life left the group thinking about their lives, and of course, Georgia Tech’s last football game with the University of Georgia, where the Yellow Jackets lost 44-42 following eight overtime periods.
Answering a barrage of questions from the crowd, O’Leary explained his coaching philosophy and his insights and critiques of Georgia Tech’s current lineup as he had just attended the team’s practice at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Several of his former players were in attendance and shared some of their memories of O’Leary’s coaching style.
“All attendees were pleased that they had managed their time to attend the luncheon, and all walked away with new insights on watching their favorite team compete this fall. We loved listening to O’Leary’s rich history of coaching college football,” club leaders said. “Go Jackets!”
