Harbor Club residents medal at Macon Love Tournament

Two Harbor Club residents won gold and silver at the world’s largest Valentine's Day pickleball tournament over the weekend of Feb. 14-16 in Macon, which boasts the largest indoor pickleball facility.

Men’s singles and women’s doubles were played on Friday, the mixed doubles on Saturday, and on Sunday, the women’s singles and men’s doubles were played. Format play was round robin, and skill levels went from 2.5 up to 5.0+ and included age groups 18+, 35+, 50+, 60+, and 70+. Teams had to play at the skill level of the higher-ranked player and the age group of the younger players.

Tony Gineris, a Harbor Club resident, won gold in the men’s 50+ singles and, with partner Scott Boyd, won the men’s 50-and-over doubles event. Another Harbor Club resident, Gloria Koch, with Charlie Eisele, won the gold medal in the doubles 3.0 70-75 age group and also silver for the doubles 3.5 70-75 at the Macon Love Tournament.
