Dear editor,
Reading the letter to the editor on DIVERSITY got me to thinking how misunderstood the word has become. It was first used in the 14th century. It meant to differ or be separate. I guess there wasn’t a word for it before then, but we’ve had diversity ever since God made Eve. I’ve often wondered why God didn’t just pick up another handful of clay and make Adam’s companion like him. Do you think He had a reason to make Eve different? I do. In fact, it seems funny to me that no one seems to realize that there are no two people alike in the whole history of mankind. My identical twins are not alike. Diversity is a part of our DNA.
Jesus told us some people are given more talents and with the additional talents comes more responsibilities. Notice the one who didn’t use the talent he was given was not given any more responsibilities. You might say Jesus marginalized him. (Like our stupid government has done to a lot of talented people.)
And the diverse stupidity has cost our country dearly. The present air traffic controller problem is only one issue. Our students can’t cut a candle to other nationalities. They don’t know how to read or write or recite the multiplication table. Our military’s morale and fighting ability has been damaged. It is time DEI and CRT policy was stopped.
Don’t get me wrong. Hurting each other over our differences is stupid.
Because God made everyone different, differences matter. I am all for including and helping every different person develop the different talent(s) they have been given to the fullest. (BOE: think educational policy!) It maximizes the benefits for everyone. But don’t try to force a round peg into a square hole. There are diverse jobs for every diverse talent. We ultimately must find a way to get the right people into the right job, so the job gets done right. And people who get to use their talents and get paid for it are usually happy people.
As to the birthright issue, it has been abused by the millions of illegal aliens who came to this country to gain permanent entry by that means. And we have paid the bill with our taxes. It must be changed to stop that abuse and expense.
Holding his hand on the Bible while swearing to support and defend the Constitution didn’t keep Biden from doing the damage he did. Me, I just hope Trump didn’t have his fingers crossed.
Finally, Jesus said I must love you and care for you. But He didn’t say that my compassion for you qualified you to pilot my plane. No way! I don’t see how anyone can feel safe if a marginally talented person is in charge of anything that is important to our safety, health, and welfare. But that is what affirmative action accomplished.
PS: Was America really committed to diversity as it was used?
