Georgia-Pacific (GP) employees began 2025 by donating canned goods to the Madison-Morgan Community Food Pantry.
The canned goods were collected over the holiday season and received by Sherry Terrell, director of the Madison-Morgan Community Food Pantry, on Jan. 14. During the holiday season, several GP employees volunteered with the distribution efforts at the food pantry by unpacking and packing boxes to prepare to feed 200 families.
Dan Rambow, a GP employee who volunteered at the food pantry with his son on Dec. 21, said, “Giving back to my son was especially meaningful because I know how much it means to receive help, and I wanted him to understand the importance of supporting others.”
Georgia-Pacific Madison Plywood plans to support the food pantry with its box distributions again later this year.
“Georgia-Pacific is honored to support generous organizations like the Madison-Morgan Community Food Pantry. Our employees enjoy having opportunities to support and to serve with them. We look forward to working with the food pantry even more in 2025,” plant manager Wesley Stone said.
“We are very grateful for the support and generosity of Georgia-Pacific and their employees,” said Terrell. “Their commitment to helping our food pantry will make a difference in the lives of so many in our community. Together, we ensure that no one goes hungry and that hope remains on the table for those who need it most.”
Madison-Morgan Community Food Pantry provides food and essential items at no cost and with no strings attached. Each week, 190-220 boxes of groceries are distributed to approximately 140 families. The pantry is entirely volunteer-run and funded exclusively through donations.
