Dear Editor,
There’s an old saying that you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep. Consider this: Joe Biden, Dick Cheney, Al Gore, and Dan Quayle all have something in common. Each of them remained on the ticket with their president when it came time for reelection.
But what about Mike Pence? After refusing to yield to his president’s demand to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, Pence was left out in the cold. He was bullied, threatened by rioters carrying gallows, and ultimately abandoned. In a striking departure from modern political norms, Mike Pence became the only recent vice president not invited back for a second run.
What does this say about former President Trump? Many of his closest allies have defected, openly stating they will not endorse or vote for him, Pence included. With so many insiders turning away, why aren’t more people concerned?
While many in our community appreciate Trump’s frankness, it’s important to remember that none of them have worked with him in the Oval Office. Considering that most of his original team has either abandoned him or been excluded from his inner circle, I urge everyone to look beyond the entertainment and focus on what truly matters.
