Global Samaritans presents Kinchafoonee Cowboys

Global Samaritans will present its 13th annual Concert at the Corry House on Sept. 13, featuring the Kinchafoonee Cowboys.

The Albany-area band is named after Kinchafoonee Creek, a Georgia Flint River tributary. For more than three decades, the Kinchafoonee Cowboys have played throughout the state, sharing the stage over the years with famous country music entertainers, including Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Jason Aldean, and Hank Williams Jr., among others.

The concert will benefit Global Samaritans, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 1997 by Drs. Bo and Ruby Cheves of Greene County. Global Samaritans is dedicated to showing God’s love by enhancing the physical and spiritual well-being of the people in Southern Zambia.

Global Samaritans operates a children’s home, secondary school, and pastors conference center near Livingstone, Zambia. From its base at the children’s home, Global Samaritans also operates three commercial well-drilling rigs to provide fresh, clean water to villages that otherwise would not have access to it.

The Corry House venue (6641 Union Point Hwy., Union Point), will open at 5 p.m. Sept. 13, with pre- or onsite-purchased dinners served before the concert’s 7 p.m. start. The Iron Fork Café of Eatonton’s Harmony Crossing will prepare dinner, including desserts and beverages.

Additionally, Global Samaritans’ Curio Market will also feature handmade Zambian crafts and several silent auction items open for bids, too.

All proceeds will benefit the Global Samaritans Children’s Home in Zambia.

Concert and meal tickets are available now. Lawn seats (bring your favorite lawn chair or blanket) are $25 each, with $40 reserved seating at tables, or tables of eight are available for $300. Barbequed chicken or pork meals are $20 each, and all seating and meals can be pre-purchased online at globalsamaritans.org or at The Corry House on the day of the concert.
