The Morgan County Board of Elections and Registration (BOER) and election director Jennifer Doran recently received the EAGLE Award from Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
According to the Secretary of State’s website, the “Georgia Election Administration Golden Leader in Excellence (EAGLE) Award honors the innovations, achievements, and best practices of county election offices to ensure safe, secure, accessible, and accurate elections provided transparently to Georgia’s voters.”
The award is presented to the county election directors and their offices monthly.
“It’s vital to recognize our state’s election directors who go above and beyond and who serve as mentors for other counties,” said Robert Sinners, director of communications for the Secretary of State. “Morgan County does a fantastic job performing secure elections for the community.”
“I deeply appreciate Ms. Doran’s steadfast dedication and outstanding leadership at the Morgan County Board of Elections,” BOER chairman Dr. James Woodard said about Doran. “Her hard work has been instrumental in ensuring a fair election process in Morgan County, and I am incredibly proud of her positive impact.”
Doran also shared comments on behalf of Morgan County’s election office.
“Our office is honored to receive the EAGLE Award,” she said. “With the support of our board, we always strive to maintain accurate voter rolls, keep voters informed, and to hold fair and transparent elections that voters can have confidence in. We appreciate the recognition by the Secretary of State’s Office.”
