Letter to the Editor: Classified docs case shows security threat

Dear Editor

To the horror of many of us, Florida Judge Canon has blocked avenues to bring the documents case against Donald Trump to a timely conclusion. As Trump left office, he stole boxes of files marked CLASSIFIED.

He stored them in unsecured areas at his home in Mar-a-Lago, showed them off at parties, and discussed their contents with some foreign leaders. When he got caught doing this, he refused to return them and tried to hide them.

WE ALL KNOW THIS.

This was, and is, a national security threat. Who knows what information he gave away, bartered, or sold?

Now, he will be immune from the consequences of these actions, says the Supreme Court. Take a breath and ask yourself, is this right? If any of us did this as regular citizens, we would be in jail for treason right now.

What we can do, going forward, is to never let this man be entrusted with classified information ever again. He is a security risk for American service members and missions. He has no right to be commander in chief of our country or to have access to nuclear codes.

We are a Vietnam-era veteran family. Children of the Korean War and WWII veterans. We are proud of those who serve and are alarmed at the thought of any of them being endangered due to the hubris of this man.

Don’t let him near the White House again.
