A viral video depicting a man calling himself “Max”, who confronted another man with evidence of inappropriate communications with a 12-year-old child has led to an investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release issued by the GCSO, “the Greene County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an incident involving the distribution of inappropriate photos to a child on July 21.
“An organization called Big Country Predator Exposure filed a report with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office concerning this incident, the press release said. Investigators have been diligently working on this case and have obtained and served search warrants for electronic devices to gather evidence.
“This is an active, ongoing investigation, and details are limited, but what is known is that Big Country Predator Exposure had been posing as an underage child on social media, at which time contact was made with Richard Johnston, who resides in the Atlanta/Metro area. Johnston was visiting family in the Landing neighborhood in Reynolds when a representative of Big Country Predator Exposure confronted him about the conversations on social media.
“No arrests have been made at this time pending further investigation.”
