Following a long annual tradition established by Harbor Club owner Brandon Matney and his wife Jennifer, Greene County Sheriff Donnie Harrison raised the flag outside the Harbor Club clubhouse on Independence Day last Thursday.
Once the flag was raised and the ceremony completed in front of a large, supportive crowd, the traditional, patriotically decorated golf carts paraded by residents and friends, led by a firetruck driven by Harbor Club resident and volunteer fireman Bob Welsh from Walker Church Fire Department.
Festivities continued at the pool, with great tunes from DJ Dean, hamburgers, and hotdogs cooked to perfection.
Golfers also enjoyed a great day with the Stars and Stripes Shootout. Besides the No. 2 tee box, Harbor Club youngsters opened and operated a lemonade stand.
The day was capped off by fireworks that evening at the Harbor Club Cove by Robbie Floyd and organized by resident Laura Leac.
