MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to the Morgan County LEC on June 22 regarding a request to speak to a deputy about a peeping tom complaint. The incident is under investigation.
Jerterrius Jamere Veasley, 25, of Madison, was arrested on June 19 and charged with reckless driving and speeding (120 mph in a 55-mph zone).
Isaiah Hunter, 29, Blythwood, S.C., was arrested on June 21 and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and speeding (100 mph in a 70-mph zone).
Okechi Ntiasagwe, 28, of Columbia, S.C., was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Zachary Taylor Young, 40, of Greensboro, was arrested by Morgan County deputies on June 22 on a warrant out of Putnam County. Young was transported to the Putnam County line and turned over to authorities there.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to the Tractor Supply business on Eatonton Road on June 23 regarding a firearm found in the parking lot. The firearm was found not far from where Madison police officers found a Glock magazine thrown from a car during a chase earlier in the day, according to the report.
Amir Khalil Sharif Shaheed, 25, of Forsyth, was arrested on June 23 and charged with reckless driving, failure to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle, and driving on the wrong side of the road.
MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT
Matthew Joseph Norris, 19, of Madison, was arrested on June 21 and charged with possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce). Norris was observed smoking marijuana behind the Little Caesar’s Pizza location on Eatonton Road.
Marcus John Fritz, 41, of Madison, was arrested June 23 and charged with disorderly conduct.
A Madison police officer investigated a fraud complaint on June 19. The complainant said she was alerted by USAA bank that her Visa card had been used on Walmart.com. The card was canceled, and the charges were reversed.
Chevy Scott Strickland, 29, of Madison, was arrested on June 17 and charged with theft by shoplifting. Amaya Shaleel Noel Pilcher, 24, of Social Circle, was released on a citation following the shoplifting incident, in which the two individuals put $391.47 worth of merchandise in a diaper bag while in the Walmart store.
Gregory Lee Elder, 54, of Madison, was arrested on June 14 and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On June 17, deputies arrested Calvin Pernell Barnes, 1010 Warren Road, White Plains, for failure to meet child support obligations.
On June 18, deputies arrested Joshua Dane Clifton, 4591 Hwy 15 South, Siloam, for a probation violation.
On June 20, deputies arrested Jai’len Antwan Edwards, 4631 Carey Station Road, Greensboro, for theft by receiving stolen property.
On June 20, deputies arrested Justin Kendall Hattaway, 1080 Jim Adams Rd., Greensboro, for a court incarceration order.
On June 20, 2024, Deputies arrested Victor Manuel Jone, 5730 Windsor Drive, Danielsville, for probation violation.
On June 19, 2024, Deputies arrested Keymonte Latres Perry, 418 Central Drive, East Dublin, for probation violation.
On June 23, 2024, Deputies arrested Jameshia Lashay May Wise, 145 Hickman Drive, Athens, for disorderly conduct.
GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
On Tuesday, June 18, while patrolling the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a driver not wearing a seatbelt. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was identified as Orlando Sinclair Sweat, 37, of Greensboro. E911 confirmed that Sweat’s license was suspended on June 16, 2024, due to child support obligations but with no serve date. Sweat was issued a notice of suspension. The vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver.
On Tuesday, June 18, officers responded to the Golden Pantry located on East Broad Street about a citizen’s complaint.
The complainant stated that an individual she was dating sent her a video of him burning her personal belongings. The complainant stated that she left because of a domestic dispute between the two. The complainant did not know where the video was recorded at the time of the report.
On Tuesday, June 18, while patrolling the South Walnut/East South Street area, officers observed a vehicle violating headlight requirements. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was identified as Carlos Gervais West, 34, of Greensboro. E911 confirmed West’s license was suspended due to child support obligations but with no serve date. West was issued a notice of suspension. The vehicle was turned over to a licensed driver.
On Wednesday, June 19, officers responded to the Holiday Lodge located on Old Eatonton Road regarding lost/mislaid property. The complainant stated that he went to visit a friend and left his medication in the room. The friend stated that he did not find any medication. After a brief search, the medication was not located. The complainant was advised to contact the pharmacy and that a report would be available in three to five business days.
On Wednesday, June 19, officers responded to the area of Charity Drive about a dog bite. The complainant stated that she was attacked while riding her bike. The dog's owner could not be contacted, so the incident was turned over to Greensboro Animal Control.
On Thursday, June 20, officers responded to the area of North Spring Street about a burglary. The complainant stated that someone entered his home and stole a bag of change valued at $45 and three cell phones. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Thursday, June 20, officers responded to the Home Depot about found property. The complainant stated that he found a knife while moving pallets. The knife was taken into evidence.
On Friday, June 21, officers responded to the area of Wilson Street regarding an alarm activation. All windows and doors were secured. Officers also responded to the area of Mill Street regarding a domestic dispute. The complainant stated that his roommate attacked him with a knife in the neck area. The roommate stated that they did not have an altercation and that the complainant was intoxicated. Officers advised both parties to separate to avoid any other conflict.
On Friday, June 21, officers responded to the area of East Broad Street about a drug overdose. The scene was turned over to Greensboro EMS, and the incident was turned over to investigators.
On Friday, June 21, while patrolling East Broad Street, officers observed a driver and passenger not wearing a seatbelt. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was identified as Caleb Issac Kenyon, 22, of Union Point, and the passenger was identified as Lorenzo Antonio Gresham, 40, of Greensboro. After further investigation, E911 confirmed that Kenyon and Gresham had active warrants out of Oglethorpe County, GA (Kenyon) and three warrants for child support obligations (Gresham). Both were arrested and transported to the Morgan County LEC, where they awaited extradition to Oglethorpe County.
On Friday, June 21, officers responded to the Dollar General on Willow Run Road about a person in distress/overdose. The complainant stated that he noticed an individual in a hospital gown and bracelet walking in and out of the roadway. Officers made contact with the individual who was previously transported to Good Samaritan for an overdose earlier. The individual left the hospital against medical advice. The scene was turned over to Greensboro EMS.
On Saturday, June 22, while monitoring traffic in the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a vehicle violating a taillight requirement. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was identified as Charles O’Neal Lawrence Jr., 19, of Greensboro. After further investigation, E911 confirmed that Lawrence did not have a valid license and that he had an active warrant for arrest. Lawrence was arrested for no seatbelt and driving while unlicensed and served his warrant.
On Saturday, June 22, while monitoring traffic in the area of East Broad Street, officers observed a driver not wearing a seatbelt. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was identified as Brianna Autumn Morgan, 32, of Union Point. After further investigation, Morgan was arrested on charges of no seatbelt, DUI (alcohol), two counts of endangering the life of a child while DUI, and two counts of a child safety restraint violation.
On Saturday, June 22, while patrolling the area of South Main Street, officers observed a vehicle passing the unit with bright lights activated at 11:23 p.m. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was identified as Tyquwance D’Shaun Cooper, 20, of Covington. Officers approached the vehicle to find Cooper in the backseat unrestrained. E911 confirmed that Cooper’s license was suspended. After further investigation, Cooper was arrested for driving while their license was suspended and for improper use of headlights.
For the week of June 16-24, the Greensboro Police Department responded to five accidents, and 77 citations were issued.
