MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to an Apalachee Woods Trail address on June 12 regarding a reported fraud. The case in under investigation.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to Cochran Road address on June 12 regarding a power line that had fallen into the roadway. The complainant said a large truck may have caught a wire from the power pole outside his house while driving by. Minor damage was reported to the complainant’s vehicles.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Lower Apalachee Road address on June 14 regarding a stolen livestock trailer. The complainant said the neighbors contacted him and said a black male wearing a blue work shirt with silver reflective stripes had removed the trailer from the property. It was later returned.
Desmond Deneen Harris, 34, of Rutledge, was arrested on June 13 and charged with two counts of terroristic threats and acts.
A Morgan County deputy was dispatched to a Doster Road address on June 13 regarding check fraud. The complainant said her bank notified her that someone attempted to pass a business check made out for $64,751 at a Fidelity Bank location. The case is under investigation.
A Polaris RZR XP 1000 belonging to a 15-year-old who was out of town at the time was stolen from a Broughton Road address on June 13. According to the reports, the teenager had left the Polaris vehicle in a friend’s yard, and the friend called 911 after he heard it start up and saw what he described as a “young male figure” drive off toward Hwy 83. He said the key was left in the ignition of the Polaris. Family members suggested a possible suspect, and deputies canvassed the area where he lived without result.
A Morgan County deputy took a report over the phone on June 17 concerning stolen prescription drugs. The complainant said she had gone to the doctor and a hardware store with a friend since she does not have a driver’s license. During this period, approximately 60 Xanax pills went missing.
MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT
A Madison police officer was dispatched to an Eatonton Road address on June 12 regarding a property damage report. The complainant said someone hit a car with a buggy and left scratches on the fender. Although the officer had the woman's license number, he was unable to contact her.
Darius Ahmaad Veasley, 18, was arrested on June 17 and charged with simple assault and criminal trespass.
A Madison police officer was dispatched to a local restaurant on June 12 regarding a dine-and-dash report. The restaurant manager said two females ordered and ate food and then complained about its quality. The manager said she would discount the bill, but when she went to the register to do so, the females fled the restaurant owing $37.50.

On June 13, deputies arrested Marcus Tyrone Brown, 1200 Pinedale Circle, Conyers, for failure to appear.
On June 14, deputies arrested Santrice Brown, 202 Powers Street, Union Point, for driving with a suspended license, failure to stop at a stop sign, open container, and driving while registration was suspended.
On June 10, deputies arrested Wilder Ismael Castillo-Palacios, 511 S. Main Street, Greensboro, for failure to maintain lane, DUI, and driving while license suspended.
On June 12, deputies arrested Mack Darrial Duckson, 243 Stabler Farm Rd., Saint Matthews, S.C., for speeding and driving while their license was suspended.
On June 14, deputies arrested Paulette Gresham, 1130 Cunningham Road, Greensboro, for theft of lost/mislaid property.
On June 11, deputies arrested Dominique Aretreu Harris, 332 Ponce DeLeon Ave, NE, Atlanta, for speeding, no seatbelt, DUI, and open container.
On June 10, deputies arrested Paul Bramlett Hawks, 109 McKinnley Street, Union Point, for battery.
On June 13, deputies arrested Patrick Lee Jacoby, 105 Pine Drive, Union Point, for affray.
On June 12, deputies arrested James Lee Jenkins, Jr., 2091 Mallard Ridge Rd., Madison, for failure to appear.
On June 10, deputies arrested Theodore Kevin Jones, 122 Autumn Oaks Lane, Lexington, S.C., for obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers.
On June 15, deputies arrested Marc Anthony Lairson, 100 Academy Street, Abbeville, S.C., for criminal trespass.

On June 10, 2024, deputies arrested Robert Shane Ryan, 2628 Clayton Arnold Rd., Thompson Station, Tenn., for disorderly conduct.
On June 14, 2024, Deputies arrested Lamaya Shelton, 118 Pinecrest Street, Greensboro, for financial transaction card fraud.
On June 15, deputies arrested Susan Toskes, 194 Texas Chapel Rd., Eatonton, for theft by taking and criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree.
On June 15, deputies arrested Caleb Ward, 1740 Ray Street NW, Atlanta, for theft by taking.
GREENSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT
On Monday, June 10, while patrolling the area of Flowers Road, officers observed a vehicle in the parking lot of Pure Beauty Farms after hours. Officers attempted to contact the driver and passenger when the passenger exited the car and fled on foot. The passenger was identified as Jarvis Bernard Smith, 45, of Union Point. After a brief chase, Smith was unable to be located. Smith was issued a warrant for obstruction of law enforcement.
On Monday, June 10, officers responded to the area of Apalachee Avenue about a concerned citizen. The complainant stated that an individual who was identified as Charles Stanley Lindsey, 49, of Greensboro, came over to Duvall Livestock and exposed himself last week. The complainant stated that he did not call 911 because Lindsey apologized and stated that he would not do it again. Officers spoke with another complainant who stated that while he was working, Lindsey came into the barn and exposed himself to him. Officers made contact with Lindsey on Oconee Avenue, where he admitted to exposing himself. Lindsey was arrested and transported to the Morgan County LEC, where he was charged with indecent exposure and issued a criminal trespassing warning for the property of 1101 Apalachee Avenue.
On Monday, June 10, officers responded to the area of South Main Street regarding an unsecured door. The owner stated that the cleaning crew may have left it unlocked. All windows and doors were secured.
On Monday, June 10, officers responded to Holcomb’s BBQ to assist probation officers in arresting a probationer. Officers contacted Michael Ronald Tuck, 42, of Greensboro, who was arrested and transported to the Morgan County LEC, where he was served his warrant.
On Monday, June 10, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr Drive about a property damage complaint. The complainant said a white SUV traveling at a high rate of speed knocked his mailbox down. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Monday, June 10, officers responded to the area of South Walnut Street about a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that she attempted to locate her vehicle and her husband. Officers made contact with her husband, Rafael D. Jernigan, 37, of Greensboro. E911 confirmed two warrants for simple battery and cruelty to children under the family violence statute. Jernigan was arrested and transported to the Morgan County LEC, where he was served his warrants.
On Monday, June 10, officers responded to the area of East Broad Street about an unresponsive person. The victim was suspected of possibly having overdosed on an unknown medication. Officers administered Narcan; the scene was turned over to Greensboro EMS.
On Tuesday, June 11, officers met with a complainant about a damaged vehicle complaint. The complainant stated that an object flew from a log truck before her and struck her windshield. The complainant was advised that a report would be available in three to five business days.
On Tuesday, June 11, officers responded to the area of West Broad Street about a disorderly person. Both parties agreed to separate to avoid any further conflict.
On Wednesday, June 12, officers responded to the area of Rachel Street in reference to a lost tag. The complainant was advised that a report would be available in three to five business days.
On Wednesday, June 12, officers responded to the area of West 3rd Street about a juvenile who sustained a gunshot to the foot. The victim stated that her boyfriend came to visit her, and as she was walking towards him, she heard a gunshot and realized that she was hit in her right foot. The boyfriend, who was identified as Timothy Jackson Jr., 18, of Statham, stated that another group of guys sat a firearm on the bench where he was sitting. Jackson noted that he picked the gun up in an attempt to remove the magazine and pointed it at the ground. Jackson stated that he pulled the trigger as the victim was walking towards him, and a round was discharged from the gun. After further investigation, Jackson was arrested and transported to the Morgan County LEC, where he was booked on charges of reckless conduct and discharging a firearm on the property of another.
On Thursday, June 13 , officers responded to the Transportation Period located on West Broad Street regarding a stolen U-Haul. The complainant stated that the renter had not returned the U-Haul to the agreed location. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Thursday, June 13, officers responded to the area of Oconee Avenue about an alarm activation. All windows and doors were secured.
On Thursday, June 13, officers spoke with a complainant at GPD about a stolen painting. The complainant stated that the painting may have been removed after firing a contractor hired to repair the home. The incident was turned over to investigators.
On Thursday, June 13, officers spoke with a complainant via telephone about a theft by taking. The complainant stated that she and her friends were traveling to Myrtle Beach and stopped for an overnight stay in Greensboro. The complainant stated that she woke up and that her car with her items and friends was gone. The complainant said the friend texted her back, stating she needed to pay for the vehicle. The car was located at a motel in Whitfield County, but the friend still had the keys. The complainant was advised to call Whitfield authorities to retrieve her keys.
On Saturday, June 15, officers responded to the area of MLK Jr. Drive about a citizen’s complaint. The complainant stated that he found a 1-year-old crying on his front porch. The mother was located and said that her child sleepwalks, and her front door is not secured. The child was returned to the mother and advised to speak with the landlord about the front door.
On Saturday, June 15, officers responded to the area of North Main Street regarding a suspicious powdery substance that fell from a customer’s pocket. The substance was taken into evidence.
On Saturday, June 15, officers responded to the area of Canaan Circle to investigate a complaint of vehicle damage. The complainant stated that a tire from a semi-truck hit the left side of her vehicle while traveling on I-20. The complainant was advised that a report would be available in three to five business days.
The Greensboro Police Department responded to five accidents during the week of June 9-15 and issued 49 citations.
