Downtown Greensboro ushers in the summer season on June 21 from 7-9:30 p.m. with its annual Moonlight on Main concert.
The Greensboro Main Street Program, in partnership with the Greensboro Business Association, presents the concert as the summer’s main event. This family-friendly event features live entertainment, food, ice cream, shopping, and fireworks, all in the heart of Lake Oconee’s hometown.
“Moonlight on Main is downtown’s premier summer concert,” Main Street Manager Kendrick Ward stated. “We hear from visitors all the time that Greensboro is such a charming and welcoming place, which is why we share our town with others by inviting them to join us in a fun evening of music and fireworks with our friends and neighbors.”
Jarvis Wingfield and BlaqBerry Band will take the stage at 7 p.m., presenting a soulful rhythm mixed with Motown, funk, pop, and hip-hop tunes, and of course, a few oldies but goodies to make visitors want to dance the night away on the streets of Greensboro.
Band members include lead male vocalist Jarvis Wingfield, lead female singer Ebony Evans, Tari Purcell tickling the keys, Anthony Bussey on bass, with Eric Stubbs on lead guitar, and JD Dunn beating the drums.
Then, to cap off the night at about 9:30 p.m., a spectacular fireworks show will kick off the Juneteenth holiday weekend.
At Moonlight on Main, guests can expect to make memories to last a lifetime. All are welcome and encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy this free event. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, as well as home-churned ice cream from Front Porch Churn. Downtown shops and restaurants will stay open into the evening, too, offering the very best in Lake Country shopping and dining.
