In his editorial in last week’s Lake Oconee News, Matt Waterfield spins a yarn. He refers to commentary from “several members of the community,” “former employees,” “employees of GCSS partner organizations,” and “several folks who know,” to imply GCSS is doctoring grades or manipulating (test) scores and generally discredit the current school board.
Does (Waterfield) really expect anyone to believe any of that? He says he sought confirmation via open records request from Superintendent Houston, but receiving none he decided to publish his blanket condemnation of the BOE anyway.
I thought editorials were what you know vs. what you heard that others think they know. Gossip and hearsay are not a reliable basis for publication.
