“They don’t want to govern; they just want to blow stuff up and go out and get clicks, cash, and a national profile.”
– Rep. John Rutherford, Fla.Republican. Our congressman, Mike Collins, seems to enjoy his title of “King of Memes” which are often mean-spirited with subtle racist tones. On X (Twitter), he’s posted a video of a college student making monkey noises toward an African American student protester, and more recently, in response to health news about Robert F. Kennedy Jr., he tweeted: “You either die a Kennedy with a hole in the brain or live long enough to become a Kennedy with a hole in the brain.” Classy guy.
For the life of me, I can’t think of a thing Rep. Collins has done for our counties except embarrass us. We’ve received much-needed funding from the White House to aid our schools, law enforcement, infrastructure, etc. – all legislation that Rep. Collins voted against!
It’s obvious that Collins, like his fellow Freedom Caucus clowns, has no interest in doing the actual work of governing. As Republican Rep. Rutherford said: they just want to blow stuff up, get clicks, cash, and a national profile.
Rep. Collins proves daily that he is in Congress not to serve his constituents but to serve and impress only one man. I think you know who that is.
This fall, we can make a change.
