The Lake Oconee Academy girls’ basketball team had two players selected to the All-Region team this season, with another named to the honorable mention list.
Lady Titans’ senior Georgia Bosart earned several honors, including Region Player of the Year, and was a First-Team All-Region selection in 2024. Bosart was also named the GHSA Class A Division II North Georgia Player of the Year by the Georgia Basketball Coaches Association last week.
Lake Oconee Academy coach Savannah Soles was proud of Bosart’s accomplishments on the court.
“Those are huge accomplishments, very well deserved for her,” Soles said. “She’s a great kid on and off the court.”
Bosart averaged 18.6 points and 12.1 rebounds per game this year. She had 18 double-doubles, including 14 straight to end the season. Her career comes to a close with 1,353 points, 896 points, 509 assists, and 248 steals.
Bosart played a huge role for the Lady Titans the past four years but wasn’t the only senior honored. Fellow veteran and senior also Jane Monachello made the honorable mention list this year.
“She’s one of those kids that means so much to the team,” Soles said.”She’s our defensive spearhead, and she brings the energy. You know you’ll get her best every time she’s on the floor,” Monachello averaged eight points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. Her defense also played a huge role for LOA this past season, but she was also a threat from beyond the arc this year.
Monachello finished her four years as a Titan with 591 points, 318 rebounds, 127 steals, and 110 assists.
Both Monachello and Bosart played big roles in LOA’s success over the past few seasons. They leave as four-time region champions and state champions.
“They’re the two I’ve been with since the beginning,” Soles said. “I’m proud of them for what they did this season.”
Soles said Bosart and Monachello were great leaders and set the bar high for future players.
“I’m sad to see them go, but I’m thankful for what they brought to this program,” Soles added.
Sophomore guard Ansleigh Padgett was placed on the All-Region Second Team for her efforts this season. Padgett still finished the season as Lake Oconee Academy’s leader in field-goal percentage and three-point percentage.
“I’m expecting her to step up big next year,” Soles said. “Everyone in our region knew she could shoot it and wouldn’t let her get an open shot.”
