Dear Editor,
Wow, Saturday was a great day in Eatonton, Georgia!
The inaugural Putnam County Day of Health was a wonderful day full of activities, festivities, education, and healthcare.
Beginning at 8 a.m. with the start of the Fun Run at First United Methodist through the health fair at Eatonton’s City Center Stage to the last notes of the Gospel Sing, it was wonderful to witness the healing spirit exhibited and the way the community came together to make this dream of collaboration to “Save Lives in Putnam County” a reality.
Thank you all for allowing me and the Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center to be a part of the day’s events. I also want to express a special “thank you” to all the people who participated in the event.
Thank you to all the pastors and faith leaders, hospital administrators, clinic leaders, physicians, vendors, and students for all of the hard work you put into Saturday’s event.
As wonderful as the day was, the real marvel for me was the spirit of love and community that was put into action. Putnam County is exhibiting how faith leaders and healthcare providers can join together and make a difference in the lives of their community.
Blessings, Paul Byrd Program Director, Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center
