The Georgia Chapter of Safari Club International (GA SCI) has partnered with local chemical-processing equipment manufacturer Glasslined Technologies, Inc. to present Sept. 18-20 at Lake Oconee, the inaugural Cast & Blast Wounded Veterans Celebration.
“The Georgia Chapter of SCI is committed to supporting our men and women in uniform and this is a way for us to show our appreciation,” Vietnam veteran and Georgia SCI Vice President and Chairman of Wounded Veterans Events Dick Caillouet said.
Set against the backdrop of Lake Oconee, the inaugural Cast & Blast event will be a three-day celebration of service, gratitude, and outdoor camaraderie put together exclusively for wounded veterans.
With a shared commitment to honoring those who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding the nation, GA SCI and Glasslined Technologies are collaborating to offer these veterans a private experience that blends exhilarating outdoor activities and genuine fellowship with a mission to provide healing and tranquility.
“Our Cast & Blast event is all about reconnecting these honorable veterans with purpose, life, and community,” Glasslined Technologies CEO James Lakeman stated.
“We’re honored to host this special group and provide an opportunity to connect with nature and heal even further.”
Event highlights for Day 1 of Cast & Blast include a clay shooting and cookout event featuring veterans taking aim at clays at the renowned Old Hudson Plantation.
Expert shooting coaches will provide guidance, ensuring an exciting and safe experience. As the sun sets, the day will culminate in a cookout celebration at The Lodge on Lake Oconee.
On Day 2 for world-class fishing followed by a sunset cruise, veterans will be paired with skilled fishing guides for a memorable morning of angling on Lake Oconee.
As the day transitions into the evening, they will then be treated to a chartered sunset cruise, complete with dinner and live music.
An awards ceremony will highlight Day 3, as well as provide an opportunity to recognize outstanding veterans for their unwavering service.
This heartwarming celebration will serve as a fitting conclusion to the event, offering sincere appreciation for their sacrifices.
