Dear Editor,
After reading a letter to the editor in your July 7th edition I want to add my take on this “global warming crisis” so many believe to be the result of our appetite for fossil fuels?
I also want to preface my remarks by saying I for one am not convinced that “global warming” is in reality a crisis caused by humans.
After all, nobody denies there were huge climate changes thousands of years ago before mankind was here en-mass that led to gigantic canyons, inland seas, and so forth. It was discovered a number of years ago that scientists in England had fudged the numbers using questionable computerized theories and data to promote this so-called crisis and turn the world upside down in the quest to save us from ourselves.
Now there are these self-proclaimed “experts” who massively profited from this ideology (Al Gore, John Kerry, etc.) with all this knowledge and predictions of gloom and doom of glaciers melting to flood the planet that should have happened by now? If they really believed it, why were there over 1,000 private jets that took them and other delegates from around the world to a recent Conference on Global Warming Crisis in Switzerland?
To focus on your reader’s recent letter concerning the ballooning cost of energy in Texas seems out of sorts to blame it on fossil fuels such as oil and natural gas, which are high on the list of Texas economies?
It would seem more logical to blame these increases on the fact the Biden administration had stopped most all-new production of petroleum by slow-walking permits for new exploration or building new refineries and canceling the pipeline from Canada. Under the previous administration, the U.S. was energy independent, exporting natural gas and cleaner higher quality oil with money flowing into our coffers, not having to buy dirty oil from the mid-east at their inflated price and practically draining our Strategic Oil Reserves just to hold down domestic prices. How is this helping to reduce our massive deficit?
I am sure most of your readers are aware that most of the renewable energy equipment such as solar panels and wind turbines COME FROM CHINA which is now our greatest adversary in my mind? Talk about a crisis when they cut off access to these and other products which can happen any day?
Also, let’s remember the recent terrible winter weather in Texas that rendered wind turbines helpless and the lack of sunshine solar panels less effective. Thank God much of the fossil fuel plants still remained in production or Texas may still be thawing out?
We seem to be playing into the hands of China on so many of these issues one cannot help but tie our growing dependence on China (i.e. medicines, strategic metals, batteries for our precious electric cars (without a grid to support them) and other high tech components leads one to believe they stem from the illegal deals to enrich the Biden family that the news media has chosen to ignore but now turning into a national scandal.
The flow of deadly Fentanyl made in China and flowing through the Mexican border, the flyover of our military installations by surveillance balloons, purchases of land adjacent to these installations, harassment of U.S. and Nationalist China aircraft and so on that Biden refuses to stop are sure indicators the Chinese have Biden in their hip pocket.
Hardly a day goes by without new revelations of other “deals”?
I firmly believe we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels by first making it mandatory that all these huge pickup trucks (how many really need them?) increase their fuel mileage to nearer car averages and figure out some manner of reducing traffic jams that burn a lot of fuel sitting in traffic going nowhere? Let’s not throw out the baby with the bath water but look for ways to conserve and I don’t mean doing away with gas stoves. How dumb can you get?
Also, the drive to be totally dependent on electrical energy without first a massive improvement in the grid to store and distribute is an invitation to disaster?
Remember, as Grandma wisely said, “don’t put all your eggs in one basket”.
