Gatewood Players present Winnie the Pooh

The Gatewood Players presented the Winnie the Pooh musical March 23-24: twice for the school and twice for family and friends.

The cast consisted of 30 students from third through eighth grade, including Pearl Sanders as Pooh, Eliana Wofford as Piglet, Grace Garber as Tigger, Jackson Thompson as Eeyore, Elizabeth Weems as an Owl, CJ Daniluk as Christopher Robin, Robbie Miller as Rabbit, Caylin Stancil as Kanga, and Emma Willis as Roo.

Additionally, Josie Burrell appeared as the Indigo narrator, Kaylee Collis as the Green narrator, Laney Duvall as the Violet narrator, Ryan Miller as the Yellow narrator, Jackson Sanders as the Blue narrator, Sophia Sutherland as the Orange narrator, Ava Todd as the Red narrator; Zinnia Boswell, Becca Butler, Rylee Cheek, Jordan Miller, Nora Miller, Charlie Grace Summer, Kathryn Weems as bees; and Liam Beresch, Zeb Boswell, Adi Grace Campbell, Jaidyn Knowles, Sloane Taylor, Clyde Thrift as members of the animal chorus.

Two students – sixth-grader Everett Burrell and fourth-grader Lucas Milbrath – were the tech crew in charge of the lights, and the backstage crew included teachers Julie Garber and Teal Sanders. The play was directed by Gatewood kindergarten teacher Beth Mappes, who also serves as director of the Gatewood Players drama program.
