GREENE COUNTY
According to the Greensboro Police Department, officers made an arrest on Friday, Dec. 2 after a traffic stop in which a passenger became verbally aggressive as officers attempted to gather his information.
According to reports, officers were patrolling the area of North Laurel Avenue when they observed a vehicle speeding at what was determined to be 54 mph in a 35-mph zone.
Officers initiated a traffic stop and the driver was identified as Shaina N. Alexander, 24, of Greensboro. Her passenger, Demarcus Lantrell Peek, 34, of Greensboro, was known to have an active warrant for arrest. Officers also noticed a smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Peek became verbally aggressive as officers attempted to gather his information. E911 then confirmed the warrant for harassing communications out of Morgan County for Peek.
Peek was arrested and transported to the Greene County LEC where he was booked and served his warrant. Alexander was issued a citation for speeding.
