Dear Editor:
A Priority Mail package was recklessly left on top of our mailbox instead of inside the box or at our front door. Our neighbor rescued it and kept it for us until we could retrieve it. That was on November 18 or 19. We were gone for the weekend.
We received mail on Saturday, Nov. 26, but no mail Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday (28-30). I had outgoing mail in the box and it was not picked up. On Wednesday, Nov. 30, I went to Greensboro to the post office to post the outgoing mail and report the situation.
The postal worker took down the information and told me an official would call. That did not happen. On Thursday my husband went to the Annex and asked for our missing 3 days of mail. He was told the mail was out for delivery and it would come that day. It arrived sometime after dark and I found it in the box on Friday morning. The postal worker at the Annex said he didn’t know why we hadn’t gotten mail.
I thought it was just us, but neighbors on our street were also affected and after looking at Next Door I realize it was widespread in the Reynolds Lake Oconee area.
This is unacceptable service by the USPS. Could you please post something in the paper to let us know what the USPS is going to do about it?
I also made 2 email complaints and never got any answers.
