The first of two fishing tournaments held by the Georgia Bass Trail was held on Nov. 19 at Sugar Creek Marina on Lake Oconee. Thirty-nine teams competed in the North Division.
The tournament paid out five places and here are the results: First place: John Duvall and Jason Cheek with 13.62 pounds of fish.
Second place: Charlie Adams and Jacob Wilcox with 13.31 pounds of fish Third place: Matthew Peck and Matt Smith with 12.55 pounds of fish.
Fourth place: Drew Coker and David Coker with 12.35 pounds of fish. Fifth place: Justin Durham and Ben Dominguez with 11.62 pounds of fish. Big Fish: Charlie Adams with a bass weighing 5.75 pounds.
The Georgia Bass Trail South Division tournament will be held this Saturday, Dec. 3, on Lake Sinclair.
Georgia Bass Trail is also hosting Wheels & Reels, an open benefit tournament, on Dec. 10, at Dennis Station on Lake Sinclair with 60 percent going to Ron Bradley, who was severely injured in the line of duty while attending a rescue call for the Leesburg Fire Department that ultimately left him wheelchair bound.
