Thieves come up with new trick to steal checks

According to the Madison Police Department, thieves have come up with an inventive way to steal mail.

According to the Department’s Facebook page “Thieves are installing a ‘cardboard mail catcher’ to the inside of the pass-through opening of the blue mailboxes behind the post office. This technique catches the mail before it drops down to the bottom. The thief comes back and pulls the cardboard out…
