The Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club of North Central Georgia hosted Parent Game Night Aug. 12, creating an evening filled with laughter, fellowship, friendly competition, and fun for parents in the community.
Parents enjoyed an evening of wings, snacks, chips, and drinks while participating in an exciting game of bingo. The evening also included the opportunity for parents to win one of four $25 gift cards.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was filled with joy, laughter, and positive energy as parents came together to enjoy one another’s company and participate in the games. Bingo brought out a fun competitive spirit while allowing parents to build friendships, laugh together, and simply enjoy a relaxing evening away from the everyday responsibilities of life.
The club thanks its volunteers, including Gina Armstrong and Denise Merritt, who led the bingo games and made the experience exciting and entertaining for players. Their energy and enthusiasm helped create an environment where parents felt welcomed, engaged, and comfortable participating.
“These types of experiences are very important for our parents,” club director Stacy McClendon said. “We spend so much time focusing on our young people, which is absolutely important, but we also want our parents to know that they are valued and appreciated.
“Creating opportunities for parents to come together, laugh, build friendships, and enjoy themselves strengthens the relationship between our families and the club,” he added. “These moments may seem simple, but they create meaningful memories and help build a stronger sense of community.”
Parent engagement is an important part of the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club’s commitment to serving the entire family. Events provide an opportunity for parents to connect with club staff, volunteers, and one another in a relaxed and welcoming environment. These experiences help strengthen relationships, encourage communication, and remind families that the club is more than a place for young people; it is a place where families and the community can come together.
“We sincerely appreciate every parent who participated and helped make the evening such a memorable success,” McClendon said. “The club looks forward to continuing to provide more opportunities for parents and families to gather, celebrate, and create positive experiences together.”
The Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club plans to continue offering parent-centered events and activities regularly as part of its commitment to building stronger families, stronger relationships, and a stronger community.
