A popular Mexican restaurant on Eatonton Road in Madison was burglarized on the night of Monday, Aug. 15.
Madison police officer Mike Maxwell was dispatched to Dos Amigos after employees found the door that opens to the patio seating area shattered when opening the restaurant at 7:30 a.m.
According to Maxwell’s report, surveillance video shows what appears to be a heavy-set, white male wearing a black hoodie, khaki pants and a black belt breaking into the business and rummaging through waitress stations and the bar area.
According to the report, the suspect removed two cash drawers, a printer and a change jar and left the restaurant with the items at 10:38 p.m. He walked toward the nearby Auto Zone parts store to a light-colored SUV, possibly a Chevy Trailblazer or Nissan Pathfinder, and put the stolen items in or near it before returning to Dos Amigos at 10:42 p.m.
The suspect then removed six bottles of Patron tequila from the bar and left again at 10:45 p.m.
Not yet satisfied with his haul, the suspect went back inside the restaurant at 10:52 p.m. and took another bottle of Patron and some beer before leaving at 10:58 p.m.
