Lake Country welcomes Seniors Helping Seniors

The Greene and Putnam County chambers of commerce held a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony July 21 to welcome Seniors Helping Seniors Mid-South Georgia to Lake Country and celebrate the opening of the company's new Eatonton office.

Community leaders, chamber members, referral partners and local residents gathered to mark the opening of the agency's second location, which will serve older adults throughout Greene, Putnam and surrounding Lake Country communities.

Owner and President Jeanine Lewis Canales shared the inspiration behind the expansion and the growing need for compassionate, relationship-based home care that allows older adults to remain safely and independently in the homes they love.

"Our mission is to help seniors age in place with dignity while surrounding them with caregivers who feel less like hired help and more like trusted friends," Canales said.

"Lake Country is home to one of Georgia's fastest-growing senior populations, and we're honored to bring a model of care built on empathy, dependability and meaningful human connection."

Seniors Helping Seniors is a nationally recognized in-home care franchise with more than 200 franchise partners serving more than 400 territories nationwide. The organization is distinguished by its caregiving model, which intentionally matches older adults with mature caregivers who share similar life experiences, creating relationships built on trust, understanding, compassion and companionship.

The company prioritizes hiring mature caregivers — often seniors themselves — to provide companionship, personal care assistance, transportation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, respite care and other nonmedical services. Its caregiver selection process emphasizes character, reliability and compassion to ensure each client receives dependable, personalized care.

The new Lake Country office complements the agency's Augusta headquarters and reflects its continued investment in expanding access to high-quality in-home care throughout the region.
