Cabinet Resources, a local home renovation business, is open on Gray Highway to help Jones County people make their home improvement needs and wants come true.
The business is located at 3109 Gray Highway in Gray and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Randy Smith, the
Randy Smith, the owner of Cabinet Resources, said he’s from Dublin, and moved to Jones County in 2005. He said the community has been good to him, and he enjoys living in Jones County.
“I like the people, and I liked that it’s somewhat small. I’m really happy here,” he said. “Milledgeville is also good support for us. We are all in Jones County, so we need to support Jones County. We have great schools, and I’m proud to be here.”
He said he is happy to be at Cabinet Resources and watch so many people in the community come to his business. He said he feels he should support the community as much as the community supports him.
“I worked for another company for 21 years, and Cabinet Resources started in my backyard in 2015. We moved two years later inside the Watson Plumbing building, but then we got the opportunity to step into this building since. We’ve grown a lot in that time,” Smith said. The business owner
The business owner said they sell a lot more than just cabinets at Cabinet Resources, and the majority of people they sell to are from Jones County. He said they try to employ as many people from Jones County as possible.
Smith said they offer other products such as flooring, backsplashes, showers, counter tops, tile floors, and so much more. He said customers can come into Cabinet Resources and pick out everything for their remodeling needs. He said it’s a one-stop shop.
“There’s nowhere else that offers something like this other than chain stores,” he said. “The problem with chain stores is you can talk to one person one day, then another person the next. You won't ever establish any sort of relationship.”
The business owner said people should shop at Cabinet Resources because it’s convenient and local. He said they want to try to be a better company. He said they have their challenges, such as supply chain issues. The main thing is they want to support the community as much as they can.
“We try to do our best for our customers, but we aren’t perfect. This economy makes things difficult, but we try to solve issues as they are presented to us. Some people you won’t please, but the average person likes what we do here,” he said.
Smith said he’s always educating himself on what works and what doesn’t work with his business, and he’s always open to suggestions for improvement from his employees and customers. He said he wants Cabinet Resources to be around for a long time even though he knows no one is guaranteed tomorrow.
“My favorite thing about running this place is the people,” he said. “The customers are what’s most important, employees are the second most important and this place is third. If you come by here, you’re going to laugh. I don’t think we do enough laughing in this world.”
