LOA lawsuit against BOELOA Board needs to put the children first!
For the life of me I cannot understand why this is not settled once and for all. We, the Lake Country Conservatives, and several others have been working between the two groups for months now trying to get this lawsuit settled and stop the incessant wasting of tax payer dollars and more importantly the defocusing of the school systems as they have to spend a ton of time on the lawsuit- depositions, deposition training, discussions amongst so many of us in the county- it is like a run away freight train and never stops. A week ago, Dr. Otho Tucker wasted four days in one week attending depositions for this ridiculous lawsuit. Is there nothing else better he could or should have been doing with his time to help the children at LOA – I think there is but apparently the LOA Board thinks otherwise.
We thought we had worked out a proposal that would be amenable to LOA to dismiss the lawsuit- the Greene County Board of Education has made a very powerful proposal to LOA to settle the suit only to have no response at the last LOA Board meeting, which as has been reported in the Lake Oconee News was extremely disappointing.
We write this now asking again that LOA consider this proposal from the Greene County BOE to find some way to stop this lawsuit and stop wasting OUR tax dollars and the precious resources that should be directed toward our precious children.
How in the world are we ever going to map out a direction for the Greene County schools and our children if the two boards cannot work together for us and our children- Last I looked we pay for them all- time to get them back on track and get something for our hardearned tax dollars other than being totally wasteful-
