Former Major League Baseball player and Greene County resident Mike Fischlin is partnering with the Greene County Recreation Department to host the third annual Fisch Camp, a one-day junior baseball camp.
Following the success of the previous two camps, Fischlin is excited to bring the event back once again. The camp will welcome up to 100 boys of all skill levels for a fun-filled day featuring practice drills, instruction, game simulations, and opportunities to collect MLB autographs.
Fischlin has invited several former MLB players, including four Atlanta Braves All-Stars from past seasons: Kevin Millwood, Jeff Blauser, Glenn Hubbard, and Bruce Benedict.
Additional invitees include former No. 1 overall draft pick J.D. Drew, along with Stephen Drew, Tim Drew, Jeff Treadway, and Nick Swisher. Their presence will give young athletes a unique opportunity to learn from some of the game’s top talent.
The camp will be held on May 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greene County Recreation Center. The cost is $20 per player and is open to boys ages 7–14 from Greene, Putnam, Morgan, and surrounding counties. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
Each participant will receive a Chick-fil-A lunch, drinks, a camp jersey, and a hat.
“We are excited to offer this camp to young athletes in our community,” Fischlin said. “With the assistance of the MLB players and the financial support of our community, we aim to create an unforgettable experience that combines skill development with the joy of the game.”
Fisch Camp is dedicated to providing high-quality baseball instruction in a fun and supportive environment. The experienced coaching staff, alongside former Major League players, is committed to fostering skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in every camper.
