Jason Easley is a lifelong resident of Greene County and a proud candidate for District 1 on the Greene County Board of Commissioners.
Born and raised in Greensboro, his character and values were shaped by the land, the people, and the deep-rooted sense of community that defines this county.
He has lived in District 1 for 49 of the past 55 years and has experienced life both behind the gates (Harbor Club) and in the rural parts of Greene County. That perspective gives him a clear understanding of residents' needs, concerns, and priorities across the entire community. Easley cares deeply about this county and believes local government should reflect the same practical, common-sense leadership that families rely on every day.
He is the son of the late Frank and Judy Easley and the grandson of the late Dr. Charles and Sylva Easley — a family whose name is woven into the history and fabric of Greene County. Easley proudly carries forward a legacy of service, integrity, and community commitment that spans generations.
Over the course of his life, Easley has witnessed firsthand the remarkable transformation of Greene County. He was here when Lake Oconee was only a vision — before the growth, the development, and the national attention our community now receives. He has seen Greene County evolve from a quiet rural county into a thriving destination, and he values the progress that has come.
But Easley also understands what must be protected. He remembers the character, traditions, and rural roots that shaped this community long before the expansion. That perspective doesn’t come from study or credentials — it comes from living it. It gives him both a deep appreciation for our history and a clear understanding of the responsibility we share to guide growth wisely and preserve what makes Greene County home.
“My platform is grounded in clear priorities: responsible growth, strong fiscal stewardship, transparency in decision- making, and protecting the character and values that make our county home,” Easley said. “Growth is coming. The question is not whether it will happen, but whether we will guide it wisely and intentionally.”
Greene County is where Easley grew up, built his career, raised his family, and invested his life. He and his wife, Jessica, are proud parents of four children: Ellen, an elementary school teacher in Athens, Georgia; Kaitlyn, who recently moved to Oregon to begin building her future; Mason, a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force; and Emerson, a junior at Georgia Military College Prep School.
Raising their children to value education, service, and personal responsibility has reinforced Easley’s belief that strong families are the foundation of a strong county.
Throughout his career, Easley has earned a reputation for steady leadership, sound judgment, and a common-sense approach to solving problems. He understands that good government isn’t complicated — it requires transparency, fiscal responsibility, and a commitment to serving the people.
Easley believes public service begins with listening. It requires humility, accountability, and the willingness to do what is right — even when it isn’t easy. He is ready to work hard for the people of District 1 and to help ensure Greene County remains a place families are proud to call home for generations to come.
“I want this campaign to reflect the voices of District 1,” he said. “Together, we can shape a vision that honors our past, strengthens our present, and builds a future we are proud to hand to the next generation.”
