Former Morgan County receiver signs with UGA

Former Morgan County wide receiver Dallas Dickerson recently signed to continue his college career at Georgia.

Dickerson played two full seasons with the Dogs before transferring to North Oconee, where his recruitment took off after helping the Titans win the GHSA Class 4A state championship in 2024.

Following the season, Dickerson picked up offers from across the country and committed to Kentucky last June. His commitment became official in December, when he signed with the Wildcats during the early signing period.

However, after significant staff changes at Kentucky, Dickerson was released from his National Letter of Intent.

“The couple of weeks before I announced my decommitment from Kentucky, we were looking at the big picture,” Dickerson told UGASports.com. “When the new staff came in, everything changed. I didn’t really have relationships with anyone, and I didn’t feel like I was going to have the same opportunity.”

Following his decommitment, Dickerson heard from three schools — Ole Miss, Florida, and Georgia. Each recruited him hard, but ultimately, he decided to stay home and signed with Georgia.

Dickerson worked out for Georgia’s staff in March 2024 and hoped to earn an offer, but left Athens without one. Two days later, the Bulldogs received a commitment from in-state receiver Brady Marchese, and Dickerson moved on.

Months later, Marchese backed off his pledge, opening the door for Georgia to reenter the picture. Dickerson was surprised to hear from the Bulldogs, the team he grew up rooting for.

“Georgia called and was like, ‘Hey, we want to keep you in-state,’ and I was shocked,” he said. “I knew Brady had decommitted, but it didn’t really register at the time. Once I decommitted, they reached out, and everything moved fast.”

By the time Dickerson made his decision, Georgia had separated itself from the rest of the field. Familiar faces only reinforced that choice, with former North Oconee teammates Landon Roldan and Khamari Brooks already part of the program.

“Georgia came into the picture, and I just thought it would be a great opportunity to stay close to home and play with two of my former teammates,” Dickerson said. “The whole process was crazy because I didn’t know if I should take that last-minute visit. But growing up, Georgia was my dream, and that made it hard to pass up.”

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound receiver said the Georgia staff envisions him playing all three receiver spots because of his versatility.

“They’re going to start me on the outside and eventually have me learn everything,” he said. “Later on, I can just go in and play wherever they need me. They see me as a combo guy.”

Dickerson credited his faith and the Morgan County coaching staff for helping him reach this point.

“Morgan County was really where I started to develop and get my feet wet,” Dickerson said. “Those years helped me test my potential and see where I could end up. When I transferred to North Oconee, that’s when I was able to show my talent, my work ethic, and everything I put in during the offseason.”

Dickerson enrolled at Georgia earlier this month and has begun offseason workouts with the Bulldogs.
