The Greene County Christmas Stocking Fund (GCCSF) completed another successful campaign.
Thanks to many generous members of our community, we distributed $100 food vouchers, warm clothing items, and care packages to 290 senior citizens. We also distributed beautiful toys (including 90 bikes and scooters), warm clothing items, and gift-wrapping supplies to 145 families and their 350 precious children.
In addition to these applicants, we were able to share toys or sweatshirts with other local organizations/neighborhoods like Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club, Circle of Love Domestic Violence Shelter, Greene County DFCS, Good Shepherd Hispanic Church, Union Point Fire Department, Allen Valley Housing, Pool Road Housing, Head Start, and Greene County Schools.
Targie Folds and Beth Thomas, co-chairs, along with board members Vicky McBride, Lee Bradway, Tonya Miller, and Zachery Brice, thank the amazing volunteers who worked diligently to make this another successful season for the GCCSF. We could not do this without all of our jolly elves throughout Lake Country.
We extend our thanks to numerous churches, businesses, and organizations that support the GCCSF through in-kind donations, cash donations, fundraising campaigns, and/or toy collections. In addition, we thank the hundreds of individuals in Lake Country who support the GCCSF each year with your hard-earned dollars and toy donations. Your love and participation are truly overwhelming.
We would also like to thank the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Athens Area. We continue to have a great partnership, ensuring that all of our collected toys and dollars stay local for our children, families, and senior citizens here in Greene County.
The GCCSF is a not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization and could not achieve this success without the support of volunteers, businesses, churches, organizations, and individual donors. Thank you for helping to make Christmas a little brighter for those in our community and for sharing the joy and magic of Christmas with others.
We look forward to your continued support in 2026!
