The 2025 Lake Oconee Showcase of Homes, held Oct. 25 to benefit Greene County Habitat for Humanity (GCHFH), delivered its most successful outcome yet, raising enough funding to build four-and-a-half homes for local families.
Under crisp, sunny, autumn skies and with an impressive selection of beautifully designed and furnished homes throughout Reynolds Lake Oconee, the Showcase welcomed more than 1,000 guests for a memorable day of inspiration, connection, and purpose.
The combination of generous attendees, hard-working volunteers, gracious tour homeowners, sponsors, auction donors, and community partners was instrumental in reaching this milestone while supporting Greene County Habitat for Humanity’s mission to provide safe, stable, and affordable homes.
“Not only did the 2025 Lake Oconee Showcase of Homes highlight the exceptional craftsmanship throughout Reynolds Lake Oconee, but it also celebrated the remarkable spirit of service and generosity that defines this region,” Showcase Co-Chair Jane Sowell said.
Guests enjoyed a seamless tour experience.
“We heard repeatedly from attendees how much they appreciated not only the beauty of these homes but also the insights shared by the incredibly knowledgeable docents,” added Kara Marren, also a Showcase co-chair. “Visitors discovered countless unique details about each property, which we believe was an unexpected delight for everyone.”
The 2025 Lake Oconee Showcase of Homes Event Committee and the Greene County Habitat for Humanity Board of Governors extended heartfelt appreciation to all who contributed.
“There are so many people to thank,” GCHFH board member and past chair Jan Broughton said. “Whether through sponsorship, volunteerism, donations, or attending the tour, every contribution made a meaningful and lasting impact for families in need.
“At the end of the day, everything we have done has been for one purpose: providing homes for hardworking members of our community who could not afford one otherwise,” Broughton continued. “These are essential members of our community who deserve a place to call home just as much as anyone. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support that has made our mission possible.”
