During the month of August, employees at Georgia-Pacific Madison Plywood came together to support local teachers by collecting and donating school supplies, along with some GP household products, to Morgan County High School.
The donation included pencils, pencil sharpeners, and everyday essentials such as paper towels, paper towels, tissues, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer —items that are vital for both classrooms and student health throughout the school year. On Sept. 3, the Director of the MCHS Career Academy, Jennifer Butler, accepted the items on behalf of the school system.
“We’re proud to support Morgan County High School and help ensure teachers and students have what they need for a successful school year,” said Madison Mill Manager Wesley Stone. “Our employees live and work in this community, so giving back to local schools is especially meaningful.”
The donation drive reflects Georgia-Pacific’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communities where its employees live and work.
By providing these supplies, the Madison team aims to alleviate the burden on educators and foster a more supportive learning environment for students. It is an example of how Georgia-Pacific continues to invest in education and community well-being.
