The Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Greensboro wishes to thank the Courthouse Vacant Space Allocation Committee of the Greene County Board of Commissioners for their work undertaken to preserve the courthouse as evidenced by the action taken at the BOC’s March 11 meeting to adopt a resolution specifying certain space adjustments and allocations.
In continuous use for over 175 years, the courthouse is at the center of our community life where births, weddings and deaths are registered and justice dispensed. Because of the committee’s recognition of the important historic, civic and economic significance of our 1849 county courthouse to the citizens of Greensboro and all citizens of our county, this legacy continues.
Thank you to each member of the committee and the Board of Commissioners.
Signed, Noreene Parker, Chair Joy Graden Kathryn Harris Rev. Hugh Hendrickson Alix Hunsucker
