Dear editor,
The letters to the editor were enlightening this last week. They show we need more information so our citizens can know fact from fiction.
For example, the presidential executive order has been around since George was President. George Washington that is. He started it. FDR did 3,721 of them. Bill Clinton 364, G. W. Bush 291, Obama 276, Trump’s first term 220, and Biden 162. Perfectly legal. Congress and the Supreme Court kept them that way. Still works. Ever hear of Henny Penny? The sky is not falling.
DOGE is not new either. Obama did it to get his Affordable Healthcare Act working. And he later got a Democratic Congress to pass a law making it legal. Biden used it too. It lasts 130 days using specialists who are not regular (supposed to be nonpolitical) government employees. These DOGE specialists can have conflicts of interest and are directly managed by the President. President Trump is merely doing what the Democrats made legal.
Nobody hears about the Feb. 28 Zelensky meeting with the Democrats that morning before he went to meet Trump. Zelensky had already agreed and was scheduled to meet with President Trump in the White House to sign the mineral deal formally with much fanfare. It was a done deal as far as Trump knew. Until the Democrats apparently changed Zelensky’s mind that morning. Zelensky reneged on his promise, which insulted and embarrassed the president of the United States; a no-no. Some little country ruler dictating terms to the United States of America’s president in front of all the American people? I’d have thrown a hissy fit, too. Maybe worse. The Democrats and Zelensky are to blame for the Ukraine deaths.
Just so everyone remembers: President Biden allowing Putin to have a piece of Ukraine is what got this Russia/Ukraine thing started in the first place. Trump is not deviating from the Democrat Party policy to allow Russia a piece of Ukraine. Trump also thinks we should get some of our investment back via Ukraine minerals and a Gaza resort. Anyone object to the U.S. getting some money back? Remember the $34 trillion deficit? Got to pay the bill somehow. Canada, Greenland, and Panama could help that too.
The way we ended up here is by a national election, which made our president and vice president responsible for repairing the damage done by the historically worst president, who was officially deemed a doddering old man, incapable of making a rational decision, whose administration he couldn’t mentally lead, who used the deep state government for the second time to attack his presidential candidate opponent. The people overwhelmingly elected Biden’s opponent (convicted criminal Trump) to clean up the mess Biden’s secret government made. (I’d include Harris, but it appears she didn’t do diddly.)
Our government sorely needs overhauling from top to bottom. For those who don’t know, our country is historically nearing the end of its life cycle. Our government is a bloated, ridged, unelected, biased, bureaucratic law-making structure dictating what sex pronouns our children can have, freeing criminals to repeat their crimes, allowing immigrant gangs to rule our cities, giving men the green light to legally beat up on women as a sport, the type cars and water heaters we can have, etc. President Trump, in reducing, fracturing, and eliminating unnecessary parts of our deep state bureaucratic government, is trying to eliminate these things, make government less costly, more responsive and flexible, and in expanding our national boundaries, giving new blood to our nation.
The fired, diehard deep state bureaucrats are cutting the most critical services to hurt us and suing us to make it hard for Trump/Musk. I just wish the deep state bureaucrats with the help of the media wouldn’t make it so hard to save our country.
