Dear Editor,
The letter denouncing the “No Kings” protest was so ripe with misinformation and inaccuracies that I’m compelled to address it. The opening salvo/assumption of “Liberal Democrat Protesters” with the added “some paid to be there” is a typically ridiculous assumption by someone firmly ensconced in the MAGA/right-wing bubble of limited entertainment-focused information disguised as news, that’s a hallmark of the aforementioned MAGA/right-wing bubble. First off, the demonstration was actually attended by a mix of Liberal Democrats, Independents, and non-MAGA or recovered MAGA Republicans. Secondly, there was no need to pay anyone for being there, unlike the multiple ads placed on social media sites for people to attend Trump rallies and his failed parade.
The attack on the Democratic party for the lack of a primary process for the 2024 election seems to not jive well with the lack of a primary process for the 2020 election, where the at-the-time RNC/GOP cancelled all primaries and anointed Trump as their designated “King” as Mr. Moorman puts it.
Let’s go into more disinformation... The No King rallies was “another cover for the likes of Antifa and BLM rioters to riot.” Unlike January 6th, there was no or very limited violence across the country (all 50 states I might add), no police beaten with clubs or flag poles, no one in trees brandishing handguns, or militia members stationed nearby enough to rush into the fray with their semi-automatic weapons. There was no invasion of property, certainly no spreading of feces in government buildings or threatening of Members of Congress. Oh and just to clarify there is no such thing as “Rules of Salinsky,” There is however a book by the author Saul Alinsky, titled “Rules for Radicals” published in 1971 as a “counsel to young radicals on how to effect constructive social change.” Somewhat different than the presentation in the aforementioned letter.
I know this may be overly long, so I’ll end with the mention of the news organizations, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS et al, and remind people that there was no declaration of “fake news” until these outlets began reporting on the mishaps, missteps, and crimes of Mr.
Trump prior to but especially starting in 2015. The only information being presented as “news,” though mostly inaccurate or fake, at that time was from the Fox News organization, and they were then followed up by the likes of NewsMax, OAN, InfoWars and the rest of the RW blogger universe that created the MAGA bubble because of the ease of lying convincingly to so many, and the money to be made by doing so.
Once people start to stop relying on the architects of the MAGA Bubble, and start broadening their sources, they typically come to realize that they’ve been lied to for the past 10+ years. There is an organization that can help though called “LeavingMAGA.Org.” Google it; it may be a good place to start and an eye-opening experience. Best of luck and welcome to the real world once you leave the bubble.
