In just the past week, we’ve witnessed a troubling pattern from President Donald J. Trump that should alarm anyone who values dignity, honesty, and sound judgment in public life.
At the memorial for Charlie Kirk, Trump declared he “hates” his opponents and even briefly danced beside Kirk’s grieving widow during ‘America the Beautiful’. Earlier in the week, onboard Air Force One, he launched into a bizarre rant about windmills and solar panels “frying birds.”
Trump also called on his attorney general to pursue investigations into his political enemies, a chilling use of power that undermines the principles of impartial justice.
These are not just gaffes. They’re not just “Trump being Trump.” They signal potential cognitive decline, an inability to distinguish solemn duty from spectacle, and a willingness to abuse power for personal vendetta. America deserves leaders who model judgment, respect, and seriousness.
Qualities increasingly absent from Trump’s public appearances.
We should not normalize this behavior. Citizens must recognize what’s happening and demand better from those who aspire to lead our nation. The future of our democracy depends on it.
