County approves road extension study for Harbor Club

In a special called meeting last week, the county commission moved on next steps for an engineering study using Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) funds for a road to connect Harbor Club’s Club Drive with the Richland Connector.

BOE files complaint about LOA admittance

A formal complaint filed by Greene County School Superintendent Dr. Chris Houston regarding enrollment practices for new students at Lake Oconee Academy was sent to the Georgia Department of Education, Federal Programs and Special Education, and the Professional Standards Committee.

Mobile home fire claims Greene County man’s life

A Greene County man lost his life in a mobile home fire on Ward Road in northwest Greene County during the early morning hours of March 30.Ronald Robinson succumbed to injuries sustained in the blaze before rescue personnel were able to reach him.

Greene County inmates transferred to Morgan County

In what many officials are calling an unusual but mutually beneficial arrangement, inmates incarcerated by Greene County will be housed in the Morgan County jail for an estimated eight months while the Greene County Detention Center is renovated, according to Greene County Sheriff Donnie Harrison.
