GCHS begins interview process for next head football coach

Greene County hasn’t had much stability in its football program, having fired two head coaches in the past two years.The school parted ways with Terrance Banks at the end of the 2024 season after a three-year run that included a 24–10 record and three playoff appearances.

MCSS Class of 2025 CTAE students have 100% graduation rate

Morgan County Charter Schools recently revealed a major milestone from the class of 2025, the school district’s largest graduating class to date. The recent senior class held a 100% graduation rate among students enrolled in the school’s Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) program.

Man throws drugs, money out window

A Milledgeville man recently drove along Old Phoenix and New Phoenix roads slinging methamphetamine, scales, and money out the window of his car as he tried to escape Putnam County Sheriff’s Office detectives.Deputies caught the driver and recovered the evidence.

Judge orders audit of $100M ‘phantom bond’

Lake Oconee Academy’s youngest students celebrated the 100th day of school on Jan. 15. Students within Pre-K and Kindergarten arrived at school in style, dressed as if they were 100 years old, with props and costumes including glasses, canes, cardigans, and gray wigs.

Drug trafficker delivered meth to Putnam Co. ‘every 4-5 days’

Upon her arrest, an Eatonton woman reportedly told detectives that she had been picking up “anywhere from 1 to 9 ounces of methamphetamine” every four to five days from Macon and bringing it back to Putnam County to sell to street drug dealers, Putnam County Sheriff’s Lt. Harry Luke said.
