Rutledge depot to close for renovations

MORGAN COUNTY

The Rutledge Community Depot and Library will enter 2025 with new flooring, ceiling tiles, repaired windows, and other upgrades.

According to the depot’s Facebook page, the Rutledge City Council awarded a project bid last week to Bill Ward of Ace Handyman Services East Metro Atlanta a project bid last week. The city’s community hub will be closed from Dec. 6 to Jan. 4 while the renovations are completed.

“We realize this is an inconvenience for our instructors and patrons, but feel sincerely grateful to the City of Rutledge and Bill Ward of Ace Handyman Services East Metro Atlanta for all the amazing upgrades the depot will receive next month,” depot leaders said about closing the facility.

They added that Ward, a resident of Rutledge, is excited to work in the community and has already started on the project.

Depot leaders also thanked the other companies who submitted bids.

“As lucky as we are to have Bill, we would also like to send a special thank you to the other two companies who bid on the job: Al Allen Industries and Southland General Contracting,” read the Facebook post. “All three contractors were knowledgeable, open to ideas, and easy to work with. We wish them all the best and look forward to our new space and a new year.”
