A new deputy joined the Greene County Sheriff’s Office on March 29 with Sheriff Donnie Harrison in attendance at Quin’sha Goss’s graduation.

Greene County’s newest patrol deputy was one of eight graduates who attended the inaugural Basic Law Enforcement Academy in Columbia County at the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Goss started with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office in July of 2019 as a Detention Officer. She has been a valued employee and after expressing her interest in the patrol division, she was allowed to attend the police academy in January.

Goss received training in many topics, including Georgia criminal law, Georgia Traffic Law, use of force, peace officer liability, defensive tactics, emergency vehicle operations, and firearms, just to name a few.

Sheriff Harrison, Chief Deputy Richard Campbell, and Deputy Shane Hill, along with friends and family of Deputy Goss attended her graduation.

After the graduation ceremony, Deputy Goss’s mother, Toni Jernigan, had the honor of pinning her badge on her uniform. Sheriff Harrison had the distinct honor of delivering the Oath of Office during the swearing-in process for Deputy Goss.
