The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a six-day-old infant, according to a statement issued by Sheriff Tyler Hooks.
“I am saddened to confirm the tragic death of a six-day-old infant at 1271 Blue Springs Dr.,” Hooks said. “This is an unimaginable loss, and our hearts go out to the family during this incredibly difficult time.”
The MCSO is working closely with the Morgan County Coroner’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding this incident.
“In the interest of preserving the integrity of the investigation, we will be withholding further details at this time,” Hook said in the statement.
Hooks said the GBI continues to process autopsy findings, but has yet to announce when a determination might be made.
