The Hall on Foster is being transformed into a “showcase of design, craftsmanship, and community” in preparation for the Madison Antiques & Fine Things (MAFT) event.
The Hall on Foster is located behind the historic Madison Morgan Cultural Center (MMCC) at 434 S. Main St., Madison.
“Madison Antiques & Fine Things isn’t just an antique show, it’s a weekend I look forward to all year, a legacy of tradition and discovery,” said Sara Shuman, who, for her second year, co-chairs the event with Jill Meeler.
Celebrating its 24th year, the MAFT event opens March 19 with a special 6-9 p.m. preview, allowing guests a first look at artworks from a curated group of vendors that collectively create the South’s premier antiques and design-forward art show. It continues March 20-21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
In addition to world-class shopping opportunities, MAFT offers architectural and design lectures on Friday and Saturday in the historic Madison Morgan Cultural Center auditorium.
“It isn’t just an event, it’s Madison’s premier showcase of design, craftsmanship, and community,” Shuman said. “I am so proud of the incredible team that brings this vision to life, year after year.”
Schedule highlights from Madison Antiques & Fine Things include: Thursday, March 19: Preview party with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music, and early purchasing for sponsors and benefactors; Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21: Public show and sale providing access to nationally recognized dealers of art, silver, rugs, jewelry, fine furniture, and décor; Lecture Series: Educational sessions with interior designers, architects, and antiques experts addressing topics such as Houses with a Sense of Soul & History, Living with Antiques in a Modern World, Old School to New Guard, and The Art of the Tablescape.
The presentation schedule includes symposiums featuring celebrated interior designers, including Eric Ross, Beth Webb, Jackye Lanham, Lauren DeLoach, Zeb Grant, and architect Timothy S. Adams, among others.
“Our architectural and interior design lectures provide an intimate look at world-class artistry and design, helping you infuse soul into new spaces with the beautiful and unexpected,” Shuman said. “I can’t imagine a more thoughtful lineup.”
All-inclusive tickets to the preview party, lecture series, and show and sale are $100; tickets to the lecture series and show and sale are $50; and entry to the show and sale alone is $20. MMCC’s Arts & Crafts Gallery will also showcase “In Full Bloom,” a special display revealing five enchanting tablescapes to provide guests with a unique place for stories to emerge and connections to be made.
Additionally, a trolley service will offer tours launched from MMCC during the event.
“This is a great opportunity to experience the best of both design and architecture and enjoy vibrant downtown Madison. We can’t wait to welcome guests to this important event,” Shuman said.
