The tragic shooting that left two teachers and two students dead at Apalachee High School had a ripple effect at schools all over the state, and Morgan County was no exception.
Adavion Jamal De’Shawn Clark, 17, of Madison, was arrested Sept. 6 and charged with disrupting a public school and terroristic threats.
According to reports, the Social Circle Police Department notified the chief of the Madison Police that Clark posted a Snapchat to his friends at Social Circle High School on Sept. 4 that said, “Social Circle High School, be ready. Hug y’all loved ones tonight, maybe the last time.”
A photo of a black assault rifle leaning against a wall with a magazine in the clip and three magazines on the floor also appeared in the post.
Officers went to Clark’s home and made contact with him.
Clark admitted that he had created the post on his cell phone and sent it to friends at Social Circle High School, but he did not divulge the names of his friends. Assistant Chief Colin Campbell secured the cell phone, which was later turned over to an officer from the Social Circle Police Department.
Lt. Chuck Elder took Clark into custody and transported him to the Morgan County Detention Center.
